Hard to believe but we are just about to finish up the first quarter of FY23 and what a terrific start it has been to the new year!

Whilst it is true that we have never experienced a higher demand for quality candidates, however, these are normally required in short time frames and based on difficult briefs – the prefect candidate based on today’s criteria is simply not available.

Regardless of the ever present need to fill assignments, there has not, in recent history, been more of a candidates’ shortage. With record high unemployment and retention strategies in place to retain key staff, the over played claim of needing to manage talent has never been more relevant.

Additionally,  given the high level of productivity companies are reporting record profits and expecting this to continue, the reality of which is questionable given many employees are close to burn out.

Regardless, most key employees are receiving bonuses as we speak based on outstanding FY22 performance. If  they do not enjoy the recognition and rewards, they expect beware, they will talk with their feet. 

Expect a considerable amount of movement in the lead up to the festive season as people finally move after nearly 3 years of dynamic change. They find themselves in the driver’s seat regarding employment options and they are dictating the terms.
